Funding

Is there funding available for ADSAI students?

Every year, a number of fellowships are available that cover PhD fees and provide an extra salary of about 1200 €/month. The number of fellowships varies every year, but these always highly desired because students can freely propose a research topic.

Project-based or industrial fellowships can be provided from external funding sources. In that case the research topic and supervisor might be pre-assigned to the fellowship.

I am a self-funded student, can I apply outside the usual routes?

We do not accept self-funded students.

It is the capital city of the autonomous region of Friuli Venezia Giulia, located on a narrow strip of Italian territory lying between the Adriatic Sea and Slovenia.

Trieste has a long coastline and is surrounded by grassland, forest, and karstic areas. Slovenia lies ~10 km southeast of the city, while Croatia ~30 km to the south. The city is an intersection of Latin, Slavic and Germanic cultures where Central Europe meets the Mediterranean Sea, and is home to diverse ethnic groups and religious communities.

Since the 1960s, Trieste has emerged as a prominent research location in Europe because of its many international organizations and institutions.
